PRIMAL POLE

Mobility. Core. Flexibility.

Thursdays @ 6:00pm

Primal movement exercises are basic movements like lunging, twisting and bending. squatting, pulling and walking that ancient humans did everyday to hunt, gather and do other essential tasks.

Modern humans no longer do these movements as part of their day-to-day activities resulting in limited range of motion, joint stiffness, muscle atrophy, weakness and loss of balance.

These compound multi-joint movements can increase strength, flexibility, balance, joint range of motion and muscular endurance. The pole is used for additional balance and leveraging the body weight to provide traction, core engagement and resistance to these movements and the exotic nature of sensual dance brings in fluidity and a feeling of primal expression to the workout.

Training the body through these primal movements engages strong-and-fast (fats-twitch) fibers in your muscles that we tend to lose as we age and since we are using the pole for negative resistance, it’s a weight-bearing activity that can increase bone density.

You will reconnect with your body through various postures, poses and dance combinations that require you to get up and down from the floor in various ways using the pole. Re-awaken your primal desire for movement and sensual expression with trance-inducing music for a truly unique body-weight resistance workout.

This workout is generally safe for anyone and beginner-friendly.

It will take some time to develop the flexibility and strength you are looking for so it’s important to be consistent to see results.

If you have SEVERE back, shoulder or knee injuries or are actually afraid of intense exercise and commitment, this may not be the right workout for you.

If you’re in and you’re ready to give it a try, let’s go. Sign up now.
